: little things

have you ever had one of those nights where you sit around a candle-lit table. eating salad out of wooden bowls. munching on homemade veggie lasagna. dipping crunchy bread into olive oil and herbs. passing a gorgeous baby around. scraping every last drip of raspberry sorbet and yogurt out of your dessert glass. laughing till you cry. curled up on a wrap-around couch with thick blankets and amazing television?

i had that night yesterday. surrounded by the oldest and dearest of friends, i said a silent prayer of thanks for the glorious pleasure of life. love. friendship. and happiness.

oh-- and one fabulous soundtrack to go with it.

  1. I had something like that this morning. Exept i was sitting on my couch having eggs & tea & watching the huge snow flakes fall to the ground outside my window. It's the simplicity that makes me smile & feel at ease. Soundtrack = amazing!

  2. I just came across your blog and am so glad I did! You capture some magic with your words... I live for nights like that with my nearest and dearest. Plus, Home is one of my favorite songs, and such a good one for gatherings of that kind. Lovely!
