they've been everywhere.
all across blogland.
and i thought it high time i dedicated a post of my own to my current reads.
i am forever engrossing myself in a novel.
and summer always seems to further fuel my reader-lust.
so here it is.
the books that have most recently captivated me.
and those that are still on the bench.
waiting for their turn to get on the field.
and hit a home run.
what are you reading on these gorgeous summer days?
letters to a young poet = love.
ReplyDeletehappy reading, sweets!

You actually have most of my list though I've read a couple of those. They're fantastic! Can't wait for my beach trip next week so I can sink my teeth into a few books.
ReplyDeleteRamblings of a Small Town Girl
Thanks for these - will investigate and add to my list. I'm getting through book 2 of The Girl With The Dragon Tattoo series, should finish it tonight. xx
ReplyDeleteOh! So glad for these! I can always use a good recommendation for a book.

these are all super books!!! I have read most of these and of the ones that I have not, I am planning on it! I love love love The Help. Such a great book. I recommend it to anyone. I hope they make a movie out of it!! and usually, I don't care to read the book and then watch a movie of it, but I this case I would love to!! I hope you are having a nice weekend!
ReplyDeleteand ps...you totally put a smile on my face with your comment! I love that you have kale growing in your garden!
currently, i'm reading: nothing. sad, isn't it?
ReplyDeletep.s. - i love that you put up a little picture of yourself on your profile! so cute!
I've read quite a few of these! Plain Truth is great, so is The Help and Eat, Pray, Love. I have a newfound love of Emily Giffin and will devour anything she writes. I also love Chelsea Handler!
ReplyDeleteRight now I'm reading Little Bee. It's pretty wonderful!
I would love to read Letters to a young poet.
ReplyDeleteHappy Monday;-)
Oh boy! I haven't read any of these yet, but I was thinking about reading Eat Pray Love, just because I NEED an elliptical read. Have you read any yet? Can I get any suggestions from you, little Novel-Queen Alfie?
ReplyDeleteOf course you know I LOVED Heart of the Matter. Looking forward to Chelsea's book as well as The Help (because of your recomendation).
ReplyDeleteCurrently I'm reading The Short Second Life of Bree Tanner by Stephanie Meyer, Amsterdam by Ian McEwan, From Reel to Deal by Dov S-S Simens, & Walden by Thoreau.....got kind of a lot on my plate right now, haha gonna take me a while to get through them.

ooh there are so many on my list - too many. It's a bit overwhelming. I joined the Foodie Book Club from (never)home maker and that's been forcing me to read at least one book a month, which has been awesome. It's really gotten me into reading again. Right now I'm reading 'The Butcher & The Vegetarian' and it's hilarious. I'm also reading some of James Herriott's old books, which I love dearly. Too much to read, and no time to do it!!
ReplyDeletei just picked "the secret life of bees" up from a garage sale the other day, but haven't started yet. looks like a great selection!
ReplyDeleteI'm just about to finish "The United States of Arugula" (much better than I had expected) and have to decide on my next book since this one is due back at the library tomorrow! I definitely want to read "Eat, Pray, Love" since I haven't read it yet, and I've heard great things about "The Help"
ReplyDeletei really want to read "nineteen minutes," "the help," and "eat pray love!"
ReplyDeleteim reading the condition now and next on my list is girl with a dragon tattoo. after that i think im going to read bag of bones by stephen king....weird title but it sounds so good!!
Great list. I've read Eat Pray Love and The Help and they are both amazing. I have a huge stack of books that I am waiting to dive into. But my current ready is $20 Per Gallon, which is one man's take on how the world will change as the price of gas gets higher and higher. It's pretty interesting!
ReplyDeletethanks for the recommendations! I have to add some more current books summer reading list :)
