:: zing zing zing goes the washing machine ::

{all images via weheartit}

i am literally up to my eye-balls
in piles of laundry.

but you know what
almost
makes the many loads worth it?

hanging the clothes on the line to dry.

there's nothing like a sun-dried dress to make you
close your eyes and whisper:

"thank you. it really is summer."

  13. I loved when my mom would string up all the towels outside in the summer. I'd love to do it with some of my clothes now just to even take pictures. But the people at my apartment complex would probably no appreciate it and doing a laundry line in my living room doesn't have the same affect. Or does it?

  16. Great collection of photos. My problem is the ironing that needs doing at the end of the wash. Mountains and mountains of ironing are piling up as I can't be bothered to stand in front of the hot iron in the heat.

  18. lol. I am up to my eyeballs in laundry too Alfie! I'm taking a huge huge load to the dry cleaners today and I'm quite certain it will cost me a small fortune. I always wait to go to the cleaners until I have no work clothes left, lol, I don't know why I ALWAYS do that.

  19. Lovely - I only have a drying stand indoors. There's nothing like fresh laundry that's dried in the sun. xx

  20. Agree!! Nothing more summery than line-dried clothing. I love looking out when at my Grandmas farm and seeing all the dresses and shirts blowing in the wind on the big ol line from her house out to a pole in the yard. Beautiful :)

  21. Killer pictures! I'm gonna step out and say that I DON'T prefer the line-dried feeling on my clothes...BUT I adore the way they look out there. It's worth the feeling to me, just to be able to see them and take pictures and feel so hippy-cool about the whole thing :)
